Telluride Bluegrass Festival Information


There is a number of Bluegrass music festivals at this time planned all around America. Bluegrass is in fact a kind of music that incorporates parts of country, folk, jazz, & the blues, as it is played on a mixture and variety of audio stringed instruments. The type has origins in & is influenced by Scottish & Irish folk music, however yet, Bluegrass is a distinctive American form of music. The name Bluegrass initially came from a name of a group, 'Blue Grass Boys', whose main singer named Bill Monroe is said to have founded the Bluegrass music. 

The fame of Bill Monroe began in 1940. The group featured instruments like the banjo, mandolin & fiddles. Through the years, the Telluride Bluegrass music festivals became events that unite various musicians from various parts of America.

 A number of current modern country music artists have recorded albums of their bluegrass favourites. Among these performers are Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs & Allison Krauss.
